REVISION OF TENSES

**Cuando en un ejercicio tenemos que poner en los huecos en blanco el tiempo que corresponda, a priori parece imposible averiguar cuál debemos emplear ya que muchas veces no se trata de un texto completo sino de frases sueltas.

Pues bien, siempre podemos encontrar PISTAS que nos ayuden:
**Si en nuestra frase vemos las palabras YESTERDAY, LAST (DAY, WEEK, MONTH, YEAR, etc), el tiempo será siempre PASADO SIMPLE / SIMPLE PAST. Ejemplo:  I saw Peter yesterday.  Yesterday my friends went to the theatre.

**Si en nuestra frase aparecen las palabras NOW, AT THE MOMENT, RIGHT NOW, el tiempo a emplear será PRESENTE CONTINUO /PRESENT CONTINUOUS. Ejemplo:  The baby is sleeping at the moment.  Are you studying right now?

**Si en nuestra frase tenemos TONIGHT or TOMORROW,  el tiempo será también PRESENTE CONTINUO. Ejemplo:  I'm meeting Paul tonight.  She's leaving tomorrow.

** Si en nuetra frase encontramos NEXT WEEK (MONTH, SUMMER, YEAR) etc, emplearemos el FUTURO SIMPLE. Ejemplo:  We will go swimming next weekend.  Will you study French next year?

**Si se trata de una pregunta y vemos que hay EVER en ella, emplearemos el PRESENT PERFECT TENSE.  Ejemplo: Have you ever been to London?   Has Mary ever played football?

**Si en nuestra frase aparecen las palabras SINCE o FOR, emplearemos también el PRESENT PERFECT.  Ejemplo:  I haven't seen him since his birthday.  They have waited for two hours.

**Si encontramos algún adverbio de frecuencia como ALWAYS, USUALLY,  NEVER, SOMETIMES, OFTEN, etc. utilizaremos PRESENT SIMPLE /Presente simple.  Igual que cuando hablemos de cosas que hacemos habitualmente. Ejemplo:  My son always goes to school at nine.  I usually go to gym twice a week.

**Estos son pequeños trucos que os ayudarán a rellenar esos ejercicios.

**Si no tenemos pistas, debemos traducir  a español en nuestra cabeza esas frases que están en inglés y seguro que sabremos qué tiempo poner.
